About us

East Bridgwater Urban Rural Wildlife Group is a growing community led group, working in partnership with the authorities and other organisations.

Join in your way, either family life with the children, personal interest or by being hands on at any opportunity.

East Bridgwater area runs from the River Parrett on Dunwear to the River Parrett at the Express Park, Bath Road. Divided by the Bridgwater railway line and the boundary of Bridgwater without Parish  council.

This includes: Redgate; Bridge Estate; Silver Springs; Sydenham; Parkway; Bower; Kingsdown; Dunwear; Horsey; part of Chedzoy.

Our aims

🌳 To protect and enhance the urban wildlife within our Community of East Bridgwater, working with interested individuals, groups and organisations to identify & record existing wildlife, biodiversity and habitats.

🌳 To encourage our community to get involved in Social & Learning activities that enable them to enjoy and appreciate our urban wildlife.

🌳 Inviting local residents to make their gardens more wildlife friendly and enjoyable, providing support and help whenever possible.

History 

The area has a rich history of woodlands, manors, clay pits, brick works, orchards and settlements.  An archaeological assessment of Bridgwater.
